TEAMVISION represents Bert de Backer, who has been racing for the French Team Vital Concept since this season.

With more than 10 years of experience in professional cycling, Bert is an essential pillar of the newly formed team and plays a key role in the classics and sprint preparation.

The 33-year-old from Belgium is among the most reliable helpers in Peloton and was successful in cycling Monuments and Grand Tour stages.

Since the very start of his career Bert has been part of the German WorldTour Team Sunweb, where he was considered a loyal helper who consistently prioritized the success of the team over his individual ambitions.

The 183 cm tall Belgian is a specialist for Cobbled classics.  In 2015, Bert paved the way for John Degenkolb’s victory in the monument Paris-Roubaix by attacking in the in the finale only to then assist the German in winning the event. Already a year before he managed to cross the finishing line along with the strongest riders despite riding for his captain. By now Bert has accumulated eight starts at the Paris-Roubaix, all of which he managed to finish. Furthermore, he has seven paticipations at the Tour of Flanders and four at the Giro d’Italia on his resume.

This makes Bert a top performer in his new team Vital Concept where he will assume a key position for the agewise very young team.
