TEAMVISION represents Max Walscheid, Sprinter at the German WorldTour Team Sunweb.

His first, characterized by serious injuries, professional season ended the former German U23 champion, with five wins and thus as the most successful driver of his team. Meanwhile, Max has proven many times that he does not have to hide in the field of the best sprinters in the world. The most recent proof of his class is the final stage of the WorldTour race Tour of California. Here he was only beaten by Fernando Gaviria in the photo finish and landed in front of world class sprinters like Caleb Ewan, World Champion Peter Sagen, Mark Cavendish and Marcel Kittel.

Max’s entry into the world of cycling was unusual: he raced on the road for the first time in the U17 age category. Beforehand, he excelled at track and field meets and discovered cycling by entering mountain bike races.

After two successful years as a U19 rider, Max switched to the Team Raiko-Stölting in 2012; he remained at the team – then Team Stölting – until the end of 2014.

The almost gigantic man – 198 cm and 89 kg – is not only convincing due to his athletic attributes: before and after the races, Max Walscheid’s strong personality makes him very likeable.

The image of an upcoming and promising road racer is augmented by traits such as humility, determination, the constant ability to analyze and a desire to perform for his teammates.

Since 2016 Max races as a pro for the UCI WorldTour-Team Team Sunweb, former Team Giant-Alpecin.
